Cody

Ramlynrose Artic Warlord is our offsite stud. He is an AKC/CKC white Toy Poodle.
Because I did not want two active studs living together, he belongs to my step
daughter and her family. It was decided that his registered name was too big
for such a little guy, so he has been nicknamed Cody. Cody came to us while
I was searching for a stud to use until Petey was old enough. I loved everything
about Cody when I was looking at him online. At about 5 lbs, he is extremely
delicate. He comes from strong show lines, and has over 30 champions in his 5
generation pedigree. He also has the “square” build that I was looking for.
Originally I had planned to just have his semen shipped in for artificial insemination.
Then I became aware of the fact that his owner had sadly passed away unexpectedly
a while back, and he was available to a good home. Because I thought that he
would be a strong addition to our breeding program, I purchased him and had
him shipped to Ohio. I was not disappointed when I picked him up. I was very
pleased to find a beautiful little dog that was everything he was advertised to be.
He came out of the crate licking us and giving us “puppy kisses”. Cody lived
with us for a week so that I could have my vet check him out, and get an idea of
his temperament. I loved what I saw, and then passed him on to his new family.
They are enjoying him immensely, and I imagine that he is enjoying all of the
attention that they are giving to him. Cody now belongs to them, but I have
breeding rights. I will be using Cody as stud for my Miniature Goldendoodles.
This will create F1B Goldendoodles (also known as backcrosses). They will be
¾ Toy Poodle and ¼ Golden Retriever. This should produce a much smaller dog
that is extremely low to non shedding. He and Petey will also be used as stud with
my Retrievers. It is nice to have both to choose from when planning a breeding.
Because Cody is “square”, he consistently produces puppies that are very proportionate.
We have had past litters (with our retired stud) that had several puppies that we affectionately
called “low riders” because their legs were so short. All of Cody’s offspring have had leg
length that matches their body size. He has made a wonderful pet for my two young
granddaughters, and is a wonderful asset to our breeding program.
